Industry Data

The Finance curricular career cluster review project taking place at Miami Dade College is carried out by a diversified consortium composed of educational and business/industry partners who will research what currently exists in the frameworks, and then identify the gaps between industry needs and curricula. The cluster is being reviewed at all levels: K-20, public school systems, community colleges, public universities, private universities, businesses and industries. While reviewing the curricula the key accomplishments of the consortium will be to: develop seamless pathways for students proceeding through each educational level with minimal repetition of skill training, to develop a model for better articulation between each educational level so student can maximize their previous training and realize their occupational goals quicker, to collaborate with business and industry to ensure skill training is appropriate and meets their employment needs, to develop better collaboration between educational level administrators that will result in benefits for students, and to develop a career and technical education programs which integrate rigorous and relevant academic training into occupational training. Each of the members will provide input, review the articulation agreements, and build up recommendations in order to develop program standards, successful articulations based on successful models.
